Getting out of Debt

Thanks for the article from Jermaine Haynes

When our second child was born, my husband and I decided that I would stop working and stay home full-time. The first few months I was home, we acquired a large amount of credit card debt and desperately needed to pay it off. In order to do that, we had to make a strict budget and agreed to stick to it. Each week, we withdrew a set amount of cash from our checking account. This money was to be used for groceries and eating out.

Cutting Up Credit Cards to Cut Debt

Gas was the only thing that we put on the credit card because it acquired points that could be used to get cash back. Instead of going to movies, we had movie night at home and rented movies. We went to Texaselectricityproviders, compared rates, and were able to lower our energy bill. We even set our thermostat two degrees higher in the summer and two degrees lower in the winter. It has definitely been an adjustment for our family to stick to this budget, but it is worth it for me to be able to stay at home with my children.
